| Vachette purchases innovative machine from Mul-T-Lock Machinery |

The KMC100, an innovative key machining center based on advanced LEAN concepts, was recently supplied by Mul-T-Lock Machinery to Vachette Ltd., a leader in the French locking industry and a major ASSA ABLOY company.
“At the beginning of 2007, Olivier Buard of Vachette called us, and told us what he needed,” recalls Plant Manager Ziv Luk. “He spoke of a totally new type of key machining center, that would receive basic key blanks at one end, cut both the specified profile and specific combination for each key, and deliver a finished key (on a ring!) at the other end – all this at a rate of 9 keys per minute.
This machine, he said, would reduce Vachette’s stocks from 1,024 kinds of profiles, to a single type of key blank – a major LEAN improvement for their production process. We said we could do it. It was an incredible challenge!” In April 2007 Vachette placed the order, with Mul-T-Lock Machinery promising to deliver by year’s end. Without delay, driven by a very tight schedule, our team tackled the new machine’s unique challenges. Collaborating closely with Vachette’s professionals, they developed and implemented numerous new ideas, finally producing – on time! - an excellent end result that exceeded all expectations. “Now I am fully convinced that Mul-T-Lock Machinery is the natural place for creating the special machines we require at Vachette,” concluded Buard, thereby joining Mul-T-Lock Machinery’s loyal global clientele, which already includes 7 major EMEA companies.
